The port & terminal industry has historically been male dominated. In the wake of the wider social change, however, the sector has been taking important steps to revert this, and we are witnessing more women ascend to more prominent roles across the globe.
There is still a wide discrepancy in gender balance across the sector and whilst progress is pleasing, it would be remiss to not mention that this journey still has a long way to go. Career success is not a matter of gender but the result of commitment to excellence, and as the industry looks into the future by becoming greener, digitalized and automated, gender balance is another facet that must be addressed.
TOC Events Worldwide is delighted to welcome three high level female stakeholders in its ‘Women in Maritime’ segment as part of this TOC Global Showcase. We are joined today by Ms Frida de Mitri, Regional Procurement Lead for Latin America at APM Terminals.
This interview will be streamed again on Friday 11th June at 16.00 GMT
