(Panel Discussion in Spanish) Tuesday 2nd November - 16:00-17:00 GMT
The ‘4th Industrial Revolution’ has not only redefined the way we work but also the way we live. Digitalisation of maritime operations brings with it many benefits including capitalizing on lower costs, optimizing operational processes and increasing port interconnectivity.
Nonetheless, this transformation needs to be uniform to fill in the gaps that are detrimental for the competitiveness of the sector.
A clear roadmap is therefore required to ensure the optimal implementation of digital technologies across the industry, considering existing differences between ports and terminals within the same maritime trade routes. Accurate identification of specific current barriers will enable designing and executing customized strategies for the effective integration of digital technologies.
Latin America’s privileged geographic location between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans provides the region with great potential for maritime trade. Yet, the development of its digital infrastructure is still at an early stage, limiting the region’s competitiveness.
This Panel Discussion brings together leading Spanish speaking experts to exchange experience and discuss potential strategies for the optimal integration digital technology.
