More and more container ports around the world are investing in automation, flexible connectivity and software solutions to stay competitive and increase container throughput, reliability and efficiency.
The introduction of autonomous container transport vehicles (AGVs), combined with robust control & monitoring technology to be used on STS and yard spreaders, facilitates the optimization of operations in ports and container terminals as these navigate through the digitalisation race.
A case study to be addressed in the session will be the modernisation and new construction of the TUAS Port in Singapore, as well as the three basic conditions to bet met by "smart ports" implementing the technology solutions provided by IFM & Ericsson.
