AI, value-based healthcare and COVID-19 drive change
Medlab Middle East, the leading medical laboratory exhibition in the MENA region for more than 20 years organised by Informa Markets, returned to Dubai on 21-24 June 2021 with disciplines relating to laboratory management, clinical microbiology, molecular & genomics diagnostics, COVID-19, and more.
The 20th edition of the event at Dubai World Trade Centre, themed on “Leading the way with the lab community”, drew more than 3,700 delegates from 135 countries, with more than 13,500 professionals attending.
This year Medlab Middle East also saw the introduction of the “Connections Experience”, an online platform to search, discover and connect with key contacts in the medical laboratory industry, as well as view thought leadership content. The two-month series of events provided attendees with additional time to engage and convert valuable contacts.
In this report we reveal perspectives shared during the event’s sessions including how leaders in the laboratory are navigating change, what shifting to value-based healthcare means for the laboratory, what pathologists make of artificial intelligence in the lab, and COVID-19's impact on thrombosis.
