This webinar brings together an expert panel to explore the latest in United States Offshore Wind Development and how global technical specialists can find US partners to navigate the Jones Act.
Offshore wind energy in the US will generate dramatic commercial opportunities in many sectors through this decade. The Biden Administration’s target of 30GW of offshore wind energy by 2030, from almost zero, will require the expertise of US shipbuilders and collaboration with many global sector specialist partners.
What will this webinar address? The first offshore wind vessels are now under construction in US shipyards, as required by the Jones Act (Merchant Marine Act of 1920). However, many hundreds of vessels will be required over the coming years if targets are to be met.
Panellists will examine vessel requirements, scope for construction of these ultra-sophisticated ships in US yards, the potential for joint ventures with established offshore wind technology partners in Europe and elsewhere, and the requirement for shoreside supply bases and construction supply chain terminals.
Who is it for? The webinar offers a fantastic opportunity for offshore wind technology specialists outside of the US to participate in the country’s vibrant offshore wind sector. But they will require US partners and new joint ventures to make the most of potential opportunities.
When will it take place?
The webinar will take place on 21st July 2022.
