Welcome Message

On behalf of Seatrade Maritime, I am delighted to welcome each and every one of you to this very special 34th edition of Seatrade Maritime Awards.

I’m delighted that once again we are able to celebrate the culmination of this process in one of the world’s most prominent maritime centres – Shanghai – with particular gratitude to our gracious hosts: the Shanghai International Ports Group.

Since we last gathered in London to celebrate the 33^rd Awards last year, the industry has continued pursuing greener solutions at pace. Many of the companies being celebrated today are, in some way, connected to that pursuit and I know all the judges this year have paid close attention with great interest to the projects and innovations that were offered for assessment. It is clear to me and all involved in this process that a great deal of investment, enthusiasm and time is being dedicated to making the shipping industry a shining example of carbon reduction and innovative operational techniques.

Those shortlisted for this year's scheme are a testament to the benchmarks the entire industry is setting and I would like to take this moment to extend my congratulations to them all for their outstanding achievements.

I wish all of the entrants this year the best of luck.

It is my great honour, as the co-host of this grand event this year, on behalf of Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., LTD., to welcome all of you to the Seatrade Maritime Awards International 2023 Awards Ceremony.

Shanghai, China was again the host city for the event again, which is of great significance to the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center of China as well as to the development of the Port of Shanghai. We all are supposed to further strengthen international connectivity and regional cooperation, and to further enhance exchanges, mutual assistance and information sharing, working closely together to address various challenges, so as to make new and greater contributions to the well-being of mankind, the sound development of world trade and the port and shipping industry.

Finally, I would like to deliver my warm greetings to you and gratitude for your participation in the event. We sincerely wish the event a great success.
