Perdue Farms announces Perry Aulie as President of Perdue AgriBusiness
Perdue Farms, a fourth-generation, family-owned U.S. food and agricultural company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Perry Aulie as President of Perdue AgriBusiness, effective July 1, 2024. Aulie succeeds Scott Fredericksen, who is retiring from the Maryland-based company.
Aulie, currently the Senior Vice President of Value-Added Products, has been with Perdue AgriBusiness since 2019.

Beyer joins K-State ASI Department as assistant professor of Sustainable Fresh Meat Industry
Dr. Erin Beyer has been hired as assistant professor of Sustainable Fresh Meat Industry for the Kansas State University Animal Sciences and Industry Department. Her appointment will be 60% extension and 40% research. Prior to joining the ASI faculty, Beyer served as assistant professor of meat science at North Dakota State University (NDSU). In her role, she focused on both research and teaching, overseeing consumer and applied meat science research and collaborating with various departments and extension programs. Read more
New Chief Strategy Officer announced at Midwest Dairy
Midwest Dairy is pleased to announce Trudy Wastweet has been named Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Wastweet previously served as Midwest Dairy's Chief Operating Officer (COO).
In this new position, Wastweet will guide Midwest Dairy’s strategic performance and enhance organizational health. She will lead strategic planning that delivers value to Midwest Dairy farmers through innovation, focus, and reportable impact measures. She will continue to build a positive work culture by developing processes or resources that improve employee work experience. Read more

Michael Persia named John W. Hancock Professor of Animal Sciences
Michael Persia, professor and Virginia Cooperative Extension specialist of the School of Animal Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech, has been named the John W. Hancock Professor of Animal Sciences by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
The John W. Hancock Professorship in Animal Sciences was created by and is named for an alumnus to honor the assistance provided to him by Gary Minish, George Litton, and Dan Kite, former animal sciences faculty members.
California Milk Advisory Board welcomes Dr. Ty Wagoner as Senior Manager of California Dairy Innovation Center
The California Milk Advisory Board’s California Dairy Innovation Center (CDIC) today announced the addition of Dr. Ty Wagoner as Senior Manager, a new position at CDIC.
r. Wagoner brings over 10 years of experience in dairy products research and innovation to the role. He got his start as a trained chef at the California School of Culinary Arts before obtaining his BS, MS, and PhD in Food Science from North Carolina State University.
