Tracey Forfa, J.D., a distinguished 30-year veteran of the agency, is the new director of the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Veterinary Medicine.
Forfa has been acting in the position since December 2022, when previous director Dr. Steven Solomon retired from federal service. Forfa has been with CVM since 2002 and was appointed the deputy center director in 2008. She also previously served as acting director in 2016.
Dawid Kolacz joins AnimineAnimine, global supplier of precision minerals headquartered in France, recently announced the arrival of Dawid Kołacz to develop its activities in Central and Eastern Europe.
Dawid Kołacz graduated from the Wroclaw Agricultural University, Poland and the Ghent University, Belgium. Active for 20 years in the feed industry, Kolacz previously gained a wide experience in large feed, premix and/or additive companies. Passionate about animal nutrition, he was also involved in the development of a feed formulation software OptiFeed.
From the beginning of 2023, Kolacz will take care of existing Animine’s distributors in Europe supporting the company diversification in ruminant and poultry species. He will also develop new Animine markets in Balkans, Russia and in other neighboring countries, relying on the company portfolio made of HiZox potentiated zinc, CoRouge monovalent copper and ManGrin purified manganese.Northside Elevator hires Bill WeichNorthside Elevator has added Bill Weich, PhD, as dairy specialist to consult in areas key to performance, production, and farm profitability. Dr. Weich strongly emphasizes herd health and performance goals, which begins by reviewing dairy data then making science-backed recommendations. He utilizes advanced nutrition models to develop the most cost-effective ration that meets the needs of the cow and the producer. Through clarity and transparency, he also helps producers understand principles that lead to efficient use of feed budgets. In addition to consulting on specific herds, Dr. Weich will also be working alongside Northside teammates offering technical support for other operations.
Dr. Weich received his bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. He then received his ruminant nutrition PhD from South Dakota State University. Extensive doctoral research focused on amino acid nutrition and fresh cow feeding strategies that promote an optimal start to lactation.
Natalie Glumm joins Professional Dairy Producers Foundation
Natalie Glumm has been named the director of development for Professional Dairy Producers Foundation, also known as Dairy’s Foundation. For 20 years, Dairy’s Foundation has been working to attract, support and cultivate the future of the dairy industry, funding programs around the country to bolster the next generation from youth through all career stages. With changing needs, evolving customer trends, and innovative technologies, the Dairy’s Foundation board recognized the opportunity to create the director of development position to increase funds and partnerships to support dairy education initiatives and programs.
Glumm is a native of Waukesha, Wis., and brings unique expertise from a diverse career spanning plastics sales management, manufacturing, and distribution to fundraising at nonprofits in higher education, health care, and human services.

Lallemand Animal Nutrition announcessales management promotions
Lallemand Animal Nutrition recently announced the promotion of Theunis Wessels to Canada country manager and Lindsay Reyes to Western U.S. dairy team manager.
Wessels has been with Lallemand Animal Nutrition for more than four years and has been instrumental in the success of Lallemand in Canada. In this role, Wessels will manage the Canadian team, support current feed additive and forage inoculant customers, and grow relationships with producers.
Reyes was previously a territory business manager specializing in growing Lallemand Animal Nutrition dairy products like LEVUCELL SC in Texas and New Mexico. She has been a part of the Lallemand team for 10 years.
OECD appoints Clare Lombardelli as chief economistThe Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has selected Clare Lombardelli as its new chief economist after a highly competitive merit-based seletion process. Lombardelli is a highly regarded economic policy leader who joins the OECD with 20 years of experience in economic analysis and policy making in the United Kingdom, including as the chief economist at the UK Treasury and the joint head of the UK Government Economic Service over the past five years.
Having started her career as an economist at the Bank of England, working on monetary policy and financial markets, Lombardelli joined the UK civil service in 2005. Her roles at the UK Treasury have included deputy director for labor market policy (2007-2010), principal private secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer (2012-2015), and director of strategy, planning and budget (2015-2018).Read more
