Case IH introduces 2 new large-capacity combines
The AF9 and AF10 complete an 8-combine lineup for Case IH

Case IH completed its large combine lineup by introducing the AF9 and AF10 combines at the 2024 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa. They join the Case IH AF11, rated in the 10+ combine size class category, introduced earlier this year.
“These new combines are redesigned from the ground up,” says Leo Bose, harvesting segment lead at Case IH. “We worked with around 100 farmer customers, and delivered a combine which solves the problems they consider most important.
“Farmers told us they needed more capacity, and that’s what we built into these machines. They have large capacity for throughput and in the grain tank. We matched the rest of the machines around this increased capacity and productivity.”
Combine specifics
The AF9’s 634 horsepower and the AF10’s 775 horsepower provide power to maximize crop flow while increasing speeds, taxing the machines less. Built upon the legacy of Axial-Flow single-rotor technology, the AFXL rotor of the AF9 and AF10 is 40% longer than the 260 series, offering increased throughput.
Christopher Larsen, who helped develop the AF9 and AF10, agrees that increased capacity drives these single-rotor machines. The Case AF10 matches well with a 45-to-50-foot grain head and up to a 16-row corn head in the new C500 corn head series. This series is built on the durability and reliability growers expect from Case IH, Larsen says. It ensures peak productivity with independent drive lines for row unit and chopper drives.
The AF9 and AF10 also include a new, exclusive feature which will make spreading residue uniformly much easier. A sensor on either side of the rear discharge unit can sense spreading width and adjust on-the-go.
“This will be a big help, especially on windy days,” Larsen says. “If you want to spread 20 feet on each side and wind is pushing it one direction, it will trigger adjustments which will correct for wind and still deliver even spread.”
The AF series also offers a full suite of precision technology, including dual Pro 1200 displays, Harvest Command combine automation and RowGuide Pro technologies. Additionally, the introduction of Connectivity Included leverages subscription-free connectivity, feeding yield and machine data directly to Case IH FieldOps- also new for 2025.
Complete lineup
With the addition of the AF9 and AF10, Case IH now offers eight combines for 2025. “The AF9 and AF10 join the AF11 to complete the AF series,” Bose says. “We now have offerings for farmers from class six to class 10+ combines.”
The offering begins with the 6160, a class six combine suited to a 25-to-30-foot grain head and an eight-row corn head. Next up is the 7160, a class seven machine which could handle an eight or 12-row corn head.
The mid-size series includes the 7260, 8260 and 9260 combines. Bose notes that the goal is to offer a combine to fit the needs of various sizes of growers in different situations.
“We were hearing growers who liked performance of our mid-size combines on grain quality and other parameters say that they needed more capacity and productivity, and that’s why we developed the AF9 and AF10,” Bose concludes.
