The A320 and 737 will accelerate their domination of the market in terms of the share of new build deliveries in the forecast period. Of the 21,731 aircraft that are expected to be delivered between 2023 and 2032, 72% (15,613 units) will be accounted for by these two aircraft families. Deliveries of the A320 will outpace those of the 737. However, deliveries of the remaining stored, re-certified 737 Max aircraft will be a key feature of the early years of the forecast.
In the twin aisle market segment, the 787 and 777 will see the largest numbers of deliveries. These two new generation families account for 38% and 26% of new build widebody deliveries, respectively. Meanwhile, the A350 represents 24% of new build aircraft deliveries in that segment.
Deliveries of 10,754 new Airbus aircraft are expected over the forecast, accounting for half of the total. Boeing is expected to deliver 8,712 aircraft, representing a 40% share of total deliveries.
The two largest manufacturers therefore account for 90% of aircraft deliveries over the forecast period.
