Airline and air transport industry executives gathered in Doha, Qatar, in June for the 2022 ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards. The awards, presented by ATW, Routes, Aviation Week, Aviation Daily and CAPA editors and analysts, celebrated the agility, innovation, determination and ultimately success that airlines, organizations and individual leaders have demonstrated through the industry’s most challenging period. In accepting the top award, Airline of the Year, Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci said, “I didn't get the privilege of standing up here and accepting this award without the 22,000 people at Alaska that every day come to work and provide safe, reliable and kind, caring service that we're known for.” Other winners were: Widerøe (Eco-Airline of the Year); former Hawaiian Airlines president & CEO Mark Dunkerley (Lifetime Achievement); Korean Air (Cargo Operator); AerCap CEO Aengus Kelly (Excellence in Leadership); IndiGo (Value Airline); Canadian North (Regional Airline); Royal Jordanian (Airline Market Leader); CAAFI (Eco-Organization); and L3Harris Commercial Aviation (Aviation Technology Achievement).
